Membership Categories and Requirements
Student – a full or part-time student in a program of learning at the college or university level leading to qualification to sit for the CPA examination; up to one year after completion of bachelor's or master's degree
Non-CPA Associate – limited to non-CPA accounting educators; college graduates of more than one year who are actively pursuing a CPA certificate; CPA exam passers; non-CPA professionals employed by a CPA firm; non-CPA finance professionals; and non-CPA licensed attorneys.
Regular Member – a CPA under the laws of any state, District of Columbia, or territorial possession of the United States; enjoy all rights and privileges of membership, including the right to vote and hold any office within the Society organization.
Part-time CPA – not employed full-time (more than 20 hours per week) and not actively seeking full-time employment; eligibility for inactive status shall be re-established annually, at the time of dues billing.
Retired – CPA who has reached the full retirement age as determined by the Social Security Administration and works fewer than 20 hours per week and has a minimum of 25 years of membership.
