Kentucky Society of CPAs Disaster Planning and Recovery Kit

How do you prepare for the unexpected? You make a plan.

Kentucky must occasionally endure Mother Nature at her most extreme with floods, severe storms and tornadoes. The very nature of a disaster, whether man-made or natural, is that it strikes quickly with little, if any, warning and can have a devastating effect. Survival is the most important thing in these situations and having a plan in place ahead of time can offer peace of mind.

You and your family may have already come up with an emergency plan and kit for survival, but did you consider how a disaster would impact you from a financial perspective? It’s about property loss, but it’s also more than that. Knowing the name and phone number of your insurance agent is a good idea, but there’s still more to consider.
