IMA's RPA Series

Overview

IMA's RPA Series is a package of four (4) individual courses relating to various aspects of robotic process automation (RPA). Learn the basic terminology relating to and functionality of RPA, what risks to be aware of and how to mitigate them, the financial and nonfinancial benefits of automation, and the role you can take in implementing RPA. Each course focuses on one element of RPA to provide a step-by-step and holistic perspective on what it takes to bring RPA to your organization.

RPA 101

  • Define Robotic Process Automation (RPA). 
  • Explain the impact of RPA on the F&A profession. 
  • Describe RPA functionality. 
  • List actions F&A professionals can take with RPA.  

Governing RPA

  • Explain key risks associated with RPA. 
  • Describe the role of Finance and Accounting professionals in mitigating those risks. 
  • List key components of RPA governance.  
  • Outline the prerequisites to RPA governance. 
  • Explain RPA governance implementation to your organization.  

RPA: Value Creation

  • Select the right processes for automation with RPA. 
  • Prepare a business case for RPA candidates. 
  • Define key performance indicators for RPA implementation. 
  • Compile and quantify benefits realized through RPA.  

YOUR Role with RPA

  • Understand RPA. 
  • Explain the impact of RPA on the Finance and Accounting profession. 
  • Recognize why management accountants need to know about their roles in successful RPA implementations. 
  • Describe the different roles involved in a successful RPA implementation. 
  • List the skills and capabilities needed to perform these roles. 
  • Assess the actions you can take in your organization to begin, or support, RPA implementation.
