CPA Day at the Capitol recap

On February 16, 2022, KyCPA's Day at the Capitol wrapped up with a successful turnout of Society members, key legislators, and policy staff. Approximately 50 legislators and staff attended the grab-and-go breakfast in the Kentucky Capitol Annex Building with visits from House Republican Leadership, House Appropriations & Revenue (A&R) Committee legislators and staff and over 20 members of KyCPA.
House Majority Whip Chad McCoy, House A&R Committee Chairman Jason Petrie and Senate A&R Chairman Christian McDaniel all provided updates regarding their views on the biennial budget and potential tax reform. Morgan Scarboro, Director of Tax Policy and Economist with Multistate, provided a national viewpoint on state tax policy initiatives across the country in comparison to initiatives in the Commonwealth. KyCPA members in attendance had the opportunity to interact, discuss, and provide practitioner guidance regarding licensing, tax and policies impacting the CPA profession.
