Intro to Social Security - VIRTUAL

This course provides an overview of Social Security and Medicare benefits and taxability. Because Social Security benefits are such an important piece of a retiree's income tax situation we make sure that the student has a rudimentary understanding of benefit types for workers, spouses, widows/widowers, ex-spouses and dependents as well as clarifying income tax related issues.

This course introduces the student to the Social Security system, explains what it takes to qualify, taxability, types of benefits (worker, spouse, dependent, widow) and walks through when and how to sign up for benefits. It is an incredibly valuable "overview" of the system, as well as an introduction to deeper study of Social Security and Medicare.
