While a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is an accountant, not every accountant is a CPA. CPAs are leaders, strategic thinkers and problem solvers. Proper accounting is integral to any businesses or operation's success and so CPAs are needed everywhere. They can work in a variety of areas, including public accounting, business and industry, technology, forensics, government and education, and more.

Why accounting at Eastern Kentucky University

Eastern Kentucky University's accounting program is accredited by AACSB International and endorsed by IMA. Students will gain the foundation that employers expect of today’s graduates, acquire the knowledge necessary to successfully pass the various professional examinations, earn their degree in class or online, and practice what they learn.

EKU offers BBAs (Bachelor of Business Administration) in Public Accounting and Managerial Accounting. They also offer fully online programs in Public Accounting and a Certificate in Accounting.
