While a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is an accountant, not every accountant is a CPA. CPAs are leaders, strategic thinkers and problem solvers. Proper accounting is integral to any businesses or operation's success and so CPAs are needed everywhere. They can work in a variety of areas, including public accounting, business and industry, technology, forensics, government and education, to name just a few.

Accounting graduates can sit for the CPA exam without having to earn a graduate degree at Transylvania University. Although the current regulations of the accounting profession require 150 college semester hours, Transylvania’s unique program entitles graduates to sit for the exam upon completion of their undergraduate degree.
